Glen Cummings, designer and partner at MTWTF, will reflect upon some recent collaborative engagements with urban nature: Safari 7, a self-guided tour of urban wildlife along the 7 subway line in New York, which circulates an ongoing series of podcasts and maps that explore the complexity, biodiversity, conflicts, and potentials of New York’s ecosystems (with iterations about to launch in Sao Paulo, Hong Kong and Shenzhen this Fall;) and Newark’s newly opened Riverfront Park.
Glen Cummings is the founding partner and creative director of MTWTF, a graphic design studio based in Long Island City specializing in collaborative communication systems, whose clients include Lincoln Center Theater and Columbia University School of Architecture. Cummings is the current vice-president of AIGA NY, a Design Trust for Public Space fellow, and founder of GDNYC, a consortium of designer and educators that promote design research in New York City. Prior to founding MTWTF Cummings worked as designer and senior art director at 2×4,inc. and his work has been exhibited or presented by the Museum of Modern Art, The New Museum, The Venice Architecture Biennale, the Van Alen Institute, Architecture League and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
