Oct. 20 Field Trip to Reanimation Library + Interference Archive

Reanimation Library

Interference Archive

Sunday, October 20, 2:30-6pm
The Reanimation Library (543 Union Street, Brooklyn), followed by the Interference Archive (131 8th Street, Brooklyn)

We’re meeting at the Reanimation Library, at 543 Union Street (@ Nevins) in Brooklyn, on Sunday at 2:30pm. You can take either the F/G train to Carroll Street (from which the library is a three-block walk) or the R to Union Street (from which it’s a two-block walk).

UPDATE: MAJOR TRAIN SNAFUS! (of course!):

  • F trains run express from Jay St. to Church Ave in Brooklyn, skipping Carroll St. You could potentially take the F to Jay St. and walk to the Reanimation Library from there; I’d budget 25 minutes.
  • G trains don’t run between Hoyt/Schermerhorn and Church, so, again, you could get off at Hoyt and walk from there. Budget 15 to 20 minutes.
  • R trains aren’t running between Manhattan and Brooklyn because of work on the Montague Tunnel. I’d advise you to take any line that’ll get you to Atlantic Terminal — 2/3/4/5/D/N/Q — then transfer to the R and take it one stop to Union.

Once you get to the corner of Union and Nevins (phew!), walk through the gate on Nevins Street, past the left-hand entrance to Cabinet magazine’s event space, and back to the Proteus Gowanus gallery entrance, also on the left. The Reanimation Library is in the back of the gallery. At around 4:15, we’ll head over to the Interference Archive.

Walk through the Proteus Gowanus gates and down this "alley," then enter Proteus Gowanus gallery on the left.
